Application
1. Can be used as an inorganic binder for refractory fillers and pigments, like precision investment castings.
2. Can be used as a second backup casting coating. It cures faster than colloidal silica system.
3. Tetramethyl orthosilicate, TMOS, can be hydrolyzed to form silicon dioxide (silica).
4. Can be used as a binder in zinc-rich (corrosion resistant) coating.
5. Can be used as a starting material for sol-gel process.
6. Can be used as a crosslinking agent for silicone adhesive.
7. Can be used as a chemical intermediate.
8. Compared to ethyl silicate, Tetramethyl orthosilicate has a higher silica concentration which brings cost advantages, but methyl alcohol is generated in the usage environment, so measures are necessary to counteract this.
9. Can be used as a silane drying agent in sealing compositions.
Packaging and Storage
Use 200Kg steel drum.
In the original unopened container, stored in a dry, cool place, the shelf life is one year.
