Application
1. Used to modify the surface of inorganic fillers such as wollastonite and aluminum hydroxide. It makes the surface of these inorganic fillers more hydrophobic, thereby improving their dispersibility in mineral-filled silicone polymers. It is particularly suitable for polymers processed at high temperatures. It can reduce the viscosity of polymer melts.
2. In many sol-gel applications, partial hydrolysis will form a pre-product, which is then further cross-linked using temperature. This pre-hydrolysis is usually carried out with alkyl silanes or other silanes, silicates, or even aqueous silica sols.
